Hey friend!
This morning I learned something pretty important about myself...
So, this week’s newsletter is going to be a day late. This is due to a stat holiday here in Canada that I’m trying my hardest to participate in.
With the extra day off this weekend, I had some time to reflect a bit. I've been thinking a lot lately about story and how it applies to podcasts, film, even marketing websites.
It hit me that I’ve (unknowingly) been obsessed with good storytelling for most of my life.
I’ve certainly been big into films and TV shows. So what? Lots of people are. I also really appreciate good SaaS marketing copy and great branding - this seemed totally unrelated to me. But I realized that it really isn’t the CGI or cinematography that interests me about TV and movies. And it isn't SEO or CRO that has me excited about web design. It has always been the story.
More specifically; who is the audience, and how can you capture their attention and take them on a journey.
Stuff that's inspiring me this week...

Good storytelling vs bad. If, after the first 10mins of a story you aren’t at least curious about what’s going to happen...bad storytelling.
